He sees the pursuit, but he cannot discern the emotional complexities behind it as love, hate, fear etc. A mirror sees only what is in front of it, nothing more, but it sees what is in front of it in extraordinary detail. O’Dim knows only what he sees (or hears!), but nothing else. That would also seem – again in my head – to relate to the idea of not being omniscient, while still being very well informed. This makes me think there’s a strong level of personification going on with him that in some way or other he is a literal man of (or from) glass. The fact that O’Dim vanishes as soon as he moves out of your line of sight would seem – in my head anyway – to relate back to the idea of mirrors and reflections. I have a few ideas, though they’re all pretty vague and unfinished.
